Today, after months of thinking about it, I've decided to start a blog about my health education classroom. I want to share my ideas that I have and gain new teacher friends to learn from. I hope this blog will provide me with that. My goal is to post at least once a week. The topics will vary but I'm thinking they will cover ideas I have tried in my classroom, resources I've created for my classroom, fun things or stories that happened in my classroom, links to awesome resources I've found, pictures of classroom things, etc. I like to integrate technology into my classroom so I will often share idea I've had on how I've used certain resources as well as health-related lessons or ideas I've cooked up. I hope that this blog will be helpful for both new and veteran teachers teaching at the middle or high school levels!
A little about me: I teach 7-9th-grade Health Education at a 7-12th grade rural secondary school in Minnesota. I graduated in 2009 from the same high school where I now teach. I received my Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Education with a certificate in Educational Computing and Technology in May 2013 from the University of Minnesota in Duluth (UMD). I am currently am enrolled at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (UMNTC) campus in order to turn my certificate into a full Minnesota teaching license in Computer, Keyboarding & Related Technology Applications, as well as a certificate in K-12 Technology Integration.
